What is Masonry?
Masonry is the world’s first and largest fraternal organization. It is based on the belief each man has a responsibility
to help make the world a better place.
The Grand Lodge of California has nearly 60,000 Masons and approximately 320 Lodges throughout the State. Valley Lodge No. 135, a Masonic Lodge in Linden, California, is a thriving member of Grand Lodge of California and is made up of Freemasons who believe Freemasonry enhances and strengthens the character of the individual man by providing opportunities for fellowship, charity, and education.
Mission of Masonry
Our Mission Statement is "simple" and as is all Masonic Lodges in California, promote personal growth and self-improvement. As Masons, we lead by example, and give back to our communities. We invest in children, our neighbors, and our future.
Rewards?
Personal Growth: Our continuing pursuit of knowledge, ethics, moral leadership, and leadership skills makes us better men and brings more meaning to our lives, to the lives of our families, to the community, and to the fraternity.
Friendship: Masonry is a community of men and their families, who share a common belief and values.
A Sense of Belonging: The Masonic Fraternity is a group of men, whose belief of honor, integrity, trust, compassion, love, and knowledge are important. The Declaration of Independence phrased it this way: "We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal, and are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness".
Service: Commitment to philanthropy, volunteerism, and community service by the Masons of California and Masonic Members of Valley Lodge No. 135, helps make the world a better place for all of us. Philanthropies of York Rite; Scottish Rite; and the Shriners Hospital for Children are but a few examples
Rich History: As a member of The Freemasons, The Grand Lodge of California and Valley Lodge No. 135 you will be a part of an organization that values tradition and history. The traditions and core values of our fraternity are relevant today as they were in the past and will be in the future.

One of the last reminders before Masons go forth into the world:
Masons always meet as equals at all times with people
Masons always act treating all men and women as equals whereever they may be and
Masons when leaving will part as equals. Never look down upon a person unless you are helping them up. |
